A typical old school Sunday meant having a lie in followed by a stroll to the newsagents to buy a newspaper. Once back home, the Sunday newspaper was a major part of what made Sunday a day of rest and relaxation: a read at the breakfast table whilst enjoying a cup of Nescafé Gold Blend, an after dinner flick through the magazine that was included with your newspaper, or a wind down evening read in the living room. You may even enjoy the little treat of listening to a CD or watching a DVD that was also included in your newspaper! Easy like Sunday morning… Easy like Sunday afternoon… Easy like Sunday evening.

David, I think our local Sunday newspaper, although entertaining, never included a DVD or a CD! We missed out on this. But what fun that must’ve been!
It was nice to have the treat of a CD or DVD. Many of them were really enjoyable. It was a trend to include them in Sunday newspapers at the time, but sadly the trend discontinued.
Absolutely great memories. Sunday was a day for relaxing. Now its gone too Commercialised. Bring. Those days back.
100% agree with you, Fiona. I would love to see many shops closed on a Sunday and it to be a day of rest.
